when attending parties, parks, walks in the neighborhoods. my love for cute, adorably charming pups seem to catch my attention. make me stop what i am doing and give some free love. ive noticed lately when attending the spring fever of bar-b-ques, i seem to be interested in taking photos of the animals more than the people. i have a feeling this could get boring to viewers as i tend to take photos of the same pups. but i promise, i won't make habit of it.

this whole life is constant state of evolution. we, animals, plants, planets are on a continuous plan to recover and evolve on a shifting base of unknowns. all we can do is embrace it to not miss out on the now. sometimes we wish that time would just stop. people would stay the same. and our memories wouldn't fade. this is what we know. that all things shift, even mother earth. all things burst, whether into a volcanic eruption or a budding flower. i have always been fan of change. enjoying the growing part, to love constancy would mean to miss out on the journey. to never challenge ones surroundings or to leap out of comfort zones would restrain ones self from living (def. In active function or use).

find your feet and just jump. farther than you ever have. fall harder than you ever wanted to. because as far as i know, we get one shot.

miss nicole and i met via the site craigslist, have you heard of it? my roommate and i at the time were looking to upgrade closer to the beach. i obviously did not know what i was getting myself into. this orange county bred, blonde sometimes brunette, would become a long lifed friend. an eye for the contemporary market that a girl from texas knew nothing about. i learned a lot from her. from how to be wild to boutique buying (more borrowing).

i had no doubt that she could launch her own line and be successful to. a subscriber to every magazine and an obsession with louboutins her swimwear collection would have the same umpf as when she walks into a bar.

the summer 2010 collection gives you the badass feeling of riding a motorcycle while flipping your ex-boyfriend off. zippers, faded jeans, american flags, the only thing you are missing is tommy lee. don't forget her sweet cupcake side to the collection which has a touch of sistery love with tops and bottoms named after her closest friends to give you some indication of how big her heart is. 

she's truly one of a kind, and so are her swim suits.

as we our evolving, changing and trying to become everlasting, we tend to dip the titter totter each way without knowing. a constant balancing act of ones characteristics coming to life while others drift far beyond our past lives. ive been working on my independence. financially. emotionally. and everything that is part of growing up. at twenty-five i am finally almost considerable trying to stand on my own. and i found a majority of what i was looking for. only to realize this weekend. the lesson i learned about this newly found independence that i have so eagerly fought for is that dependability is why we have relationships. to let go, and learn to lean a bit and sway when you need to let go. im okay not always being strong, but only if you're okay with letting me fall and help me back up.

i depend on my fathers financial advice. i rely on my boyfriends hugs. i need my friends laughter. i depend on people around me, and it's okay to ask for help. to call when you're down and out. to text when you need a joke.

i am happy that i found my two feet, because now i can choose wisely when i need to stand on one.

first order of business was a trip to mammoth to photograph, snow bunnies and shredders. next time i hope not to have a heavily runny nose, tissue pockets and lungs that can't sustain high altitudes. nonetheless, the event was a crash course in judging and precision. i couldn't help but to take in the beauty that surrounded me.

currently i am two timing my current job, for an upcoming job. don't worry, it is within the same company so they know about it. but it's been a balancing act of travels, learning overload, and an exploration of my new best friend. a camera. we have been getting to know each other the past few weeks. trying to become an extension of one another. it's funny, i have always loved taking photos and was actually saving the dollars to purchase a more advanced gadget. but as life has it, a new venture happened upon me, where one was handed to me with no instructions or understanding but a "good luck". i am doing my best to experiment and learn her body, but it's a far more difficult task than originally thought. and maybe because it's for work, so there is ~~no fucking~~ around. my income depends on the photos i take.

this new gig, is pretty much cataloging the trends, fashions, moods that i see and reporting back via photographs and a verbal analysis. in various categories from skate to parties, showrooms to store fronts, street styles to surf and everything that lies between. i will be learning my current home town of LA, like i have never known. exploring cities, and looking you up and down. consuming all images that surround me. and regurgitating them in photo form.

to be honest, this is a position that dreams are made of. for me at least. (which i dont believe i have said out loud yet. i have been down playing in hopes of be successful) i have done the desk job, learned about the fashion world from surf and skate, the contemporary marketplace, bitch work to hard work. and i have reached an avenue that i feel that i will love to do. to explore, and to have a point of view.

this job is all mine.

returning home from an ear bleeding, severe change of weather , and tears of joys that are south by southwest have left me exhausted. along with a very unhealthy immune system. the 4 day adventure started from the extremely packed airplane from lax to the perfectly timed jog on to my departing plane. the boys performed 3 shows a day, for three straight days. from parties to showcases, coffee hunting to free cocktails, things started off early and ended late. there are too many perfect moments to count. but i'll give you my best shot.

This Spring for me is about being healthy, creative, laughing, and
showing off my new found abs! These are the things that are going to
make this spring one to remember.

There is nothing better then having fresh flowers each week to
brighten up your house. They dont have to be expensive or extravagant,
I usually get mine at the local farmers market, Trader Joes, or
downtown LA at the flower mart if I want to go big on a small budget.
You'll have to wake up early though and get there at like 5am when the
new stock comes in. It would be a fun adventure with some
girlfriends...grab coffee or tea, a bunch of flowers and make
arraignments for the week = spring time laughs, and fun.

This spring I want to be in love. In Love with life, me, nature and my
friends. I want to be present and take in every moment as it come. I
want to believe again, be motivated and get creative. This spring im
going to believe in love again...Im going to believe in me. You should
try it too...when you find your mind wondering to what you have to do
tomorrow, or next week, stop yourself and come back to the present
conversation, situation, or party. Be present...cause its a gift and
you only get to live it once.

spring summer essentials....crop top and high wasted shorts. its a
must! with some cute appropriate wedges or heels...so cute!

its crazy how much working out can clear your head and make you feel
better. This spring...flat tummy, toned arms and legs are in. hit the
gym, or runyon as much as possible, yoga is great too...not only will
you feel better on the inside, you will look better on the outside.
Those crop tops and short shorts will feel better too. set realistic
goals...make the goals and feel the change from the inside out.

Animal print bathing suits. Spring is all about finding the perfect bathing suit and I am feeling the animal prints!

Toes!! Mine have been hidden in boots all winter and i am looking forward to getting pedicures and finding the perfect sandal to show them off in.

Horse Races. A great way to spend the weekend with friends in a big or small group and dressing up in outfits usually way too over the top!

90210... my  favorite guilty pleasure is back. Very excited!

*Thigh highs (Sheer black is my favorite but American Apparel has some cool striped pastel colors)
I love them with any short dress or a good pair of denim shorts.

*I am OBSESSED with these Alexander Wang cut out boots. A good DIY would be high top converse by cutting the rubber front sole out. Kind of like these:

*Geo prints. I really like the simplicity of these harlem pants.  

You will definitely see a lot of geo prints in my new Swimwear collection.

*Flower head bands. Velvet, plastic, fabric whatever type I am loving big over sizes floral head bands. This is my new replacement, more braided hippie headbands.

*Cool-Aid DIY hair. I am not sure I could ever pull it off but have seen this look on and off the runway for the past spring season. It all started with proenza schouler's surf inspired spring show and now I see it in every magazine.

The two things I'm most excited about this season are Prairie inspired looks, and anything with animals on it. I love mixing lace and floral in with everything I own, and anything with a dusty, long-lost look to it will always appeal to me. As far as the animal stuff? It's just so whimsical and fun that it completely appeals to my inner-child. I love that this is a look that can be seen in Miu Miu's current campaign and can't wait to translate it into my own look. The one thing I cannot wait to wear this season are playsuits. As many as possible. Ones that make you look like an animal, floral ones, lace ones, any playsuit makes me happy.

one adjective i am currently working on. understanding the meaning of being vulnerable in all types of relationships and situations. i am consistently vulnerable with my head and my heart. i believe the best things that have come into my life, is when i have allowed them, when i took chances; in the same breathe some of the worst has come when i opened up too soon to those unworthy. im learning the balance, it has been a slow process for me. which i don't think i have remotely started to conquer yet. as i always expect others to have their best interest for me. but i'd say more so than not, they don't. it's learning to keep the kind hearted around, and keep the ill minded at arms length. just when you think you've taken all the brinks down, and have the ability to breathe in everyone around. someone or something reminds that you should at least keep up a glass door to keep the pessimistic mind out.

This year I have the pleasure of living a block away from a lake. Fishing, golfing, swimming, boating, barbecuing, good music, and great company; can Spring be represented any better than that? Coachella Music Festival is also a great start to Spring, and speaking of art, there are a few movies coming out in Spring that I look forward to. Children of Men from Sundance hits theaters around mid March, and Jack Goes Boating, directed by and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, will be released shorty after. (Grizzly Bear made the soundtrack for Jack Goes Boating, so that is reason enough to see it.) Spring 2010 already looks promising, and through all of that, I plan on looking and feeling comfortable in my Spring swagger.

*Sweaters with shorts is my new favorite; relaxed but refined.

*I already got myself some of these baseball tees. Any shirt that is soft and light and simple, without being boring, is good in my book.

*Reduce, reuse, recycle. I've made an arsenal of shorts for this Spring with old jeans I already have.

*Graphic tees can look a bit juvenile, but throw on a nice sweater, and I feel my age.

*It's hard for me as a student to hear the word 'Spring' without attaching 'semester' to it. I like this young, fun, and collegiate look. I plan on tucking in my button downs.

Why: There’s something about the way the afternoon light, soft glow and sun-kissed skin makes the girls and the clothing in these shots seem dream like and idyllic.

I am so incredible excited for Alice in Wonderland to be released and since the trailers and billboards have shown up I have been yearning for an Alice in Wonderland play date. In the mean time, I have been inspired by the vibrant color pallette which is at times juxtaposed by a white on white palette. after much research about articles about the importance of saying thank you, i came up empty handed. there were articles about thank you notes, spiritual thank yous, but nothing of just the daily importance of telling strangers, lovers, friends that you are thankful for their help, a recognition of their presence. the older i get the more i see how these two words can truly make a difference in others lives. a smile and a thank you to those who are gracious enough to listen, give you what you needed, a helping hand, even a compliment.

that thank you in return means the world to me, to feel appreciated at that moment in my life they see what i am doing is worthy, and needed. i want others to feel that warmth that i get when i hear, thank you.

so, thank you for always listening when i do all the talking, for putting my groceries into reusable bags after you put them in plastic, for telling me you like my dress, for picking up my stuff when it falls out of my purse, for telling me my headlight was out, for giving me hugs when i need them, for opening the door when my arms were full, for tucking my tag in my shirt, for emailing me back immediately, for laughing at my jokes when they aren't funny, and for holding my hair.

thank you, for telling me everything is going to be okay, for being my parents, for saying good morning when we pass on the street, for getting things down when im not tall enough, for understanding why i don't call immediately, for inviting me to parties because my dad asked you to, for letting me finish your sentences out loud (and with my lips), for looking back when i trip to notice what i (didnt) trip on, humoring me, for waving when i let you in on the road, for finding a loose eyelash and letting me make a wish, and never letting me win.

we are continually enraged with the notion of the never ending. to cultivate dreams and hold on to them so tightly our hand begins to bleed. ive become a wondering ban-chi with little discretion. im finding myself in a holding cell of the great unknown. my curiosity. does everyone think of it has much i do. or if my mind is just spinning in circles and waiting for a scratch to re-write an already written story. if i have said this once or even twice, i am a day dreamer of life's opportunities of love, experiences, adventure and curiosity. i just want to explore and live like i am still five, with no heartbreak to guide me, no bike crash to prevent me. i want to fall down and scrape my knee as if it has never happened before. this constant cerebral thinking is driving me nuts. i want out of my head into my soul. to create a map of destinations to be reached. the everyday is becoming more wearing, i am not cut out for this constant.

there is one thing i am constantly listening to and thoroughly enjoy other than music. the radio program known as this american life. hearing stories of others lives, experiences, the wonders of the people i share my country with. the triumphs, the sadness, the bewilderment of these stories always tend to resonate with me. i couldn't be more excited that they launched an app. and ira glass himself has made a video to sell it to you. which i didn't need, but it helped. and it's $2.99 for a wealth of entertainment.

it has been about 3 months since i have even scribbled on locallove. a lot has changed in such a short amount of time, nothing mind blowing. but changes. i always have such mixed reviews when dealing with change, i love it and embrace it and think about it all too often. as this once was an outlet first brought to life by moving in with the 5 boys, and watching their eagerness to evolve as musicians. myself has evolved beyond expectations. now as they are taking flight among the many seas i have made my own change. you could never imagine what an empty house can do on your soul. the closed doors, the memories lingering around every corner, the lack of life that doesn't breathe in an usually open space. my heart told me it was time, they had lifted off, and i needed to find a landing.

my significant other and i, didn't go far, just down the street into another neighborhood called atwater village. and i love it. this home screams warmth, character and life. airy, seeping sunlight, floorboard creaks, and vaulted ceilings. this is a new beginning for us, me, and everything that lies ahead.

how ever you wanna spin it for whatever game you play. we're constantly playing them. with whom we play them with can be many different peoples. significant others, dream boats, forever friends, newly found girl crushes, we are trying to make all the right moves. or playing as if we don't care. but most of us actually do care. we want to control the outcome, or be able to see the whole field without those hidden distractions in the outfield. having all the cards on the table, saying all the things you want to say. even if it is appropriate or not, right or wrong. i think that's usually how i (try) play the game. and that's how i like others to play.sometimes you play too close to your heart, to truly lay it all out there. but i feel once the opponent knows that,their next move should be accordingly. but that is if life was true, and honest and no one had the upper hand. we can be easily influenced, persuaded in many directions. if i know you're trying, giving thought about it your move. if im worth it to you to win or to lose.let's put the game aside, be honest. maybe the honesty isnt with that person but with yourself.

is all this important? are they important? if so, will a tie suffice.

it's all coming together. my thoughts, worries, functions. life is about those tiny, or even those extremely large revelations we have. the one that came up as of late, was the need for perfection. or understanding that im not. nor will i ever be. i make mistakes, i regret them (sometimes). i cry when i shouldn't. i get frustrated at the small speed bumps rather then the big. that we do the best we can with whom we can. and im just trying to live and love. that's always been my goals. i dont have dreams like being a musician or artist. a clown or heartbreaker. i just want to live and love. have people come into my life and influence my heart. ill breathe you in. and ill just live, go with the wind more so than not. im a observer as im equally opinionated. ill start and quit all within the same sentence. ill do my best to try. but i dont need to be successful. well, i take that back if success means winning, ill take that anytime.

all im asking from you, is to love me and live among me, not in front or behind.

seems like i have been far from my computer this days. and i came up with the conclusion. when i am happy, in love, experiencing all new things i dont need her as much. the computer that is, she's become an integral part in my life when all is lost and needs to be found. within the past few weeks, she hasnt been around. i think we needed a break from each other.
which leads me to my hiatus.
hiatus has lead to some oh so great memories.

here a few pics of most recent memories. a trip to nyc, and if you know me at all you know this place has and will always stay close to my heart. i will long for the lights and the subway rides into the city. the crisp air on your skin and constant visual interaction. and even more so when it becomes a romantic getaway of sorts.

the people we welcome into our lives for whatever reason, we let them in. open our arms, in hopes of a genuine return. their stamp on our passport of a heart, and they tend to go on their way. these relationships being a time line of shortcomings, or too brief to actually count. we need them. we need them to stir up what we think, thought, thunk. to realize that embracing change is the only constant.

i can only control the moment i am in. not tomorrow, or the next hour for that matter. anything can be unrivaled or wound up. i just know i need to believe, in myself, in others, that we can change, adapt & accept that. and those i surround myself are on their own path, crossed or crossed out we can only carry on in our own direction. i lost that. that sense of wonderment for a second there. i am a curious person. i analyze everything i see or touch. i pay attention to the details, i share those details.

as i sit here, counting down the minutes that my feet walk out this door. im curious. curious of the flow of constant thoughts roaming my very open mind. we make choices every day, every hour, every second, some in which we actually think about. others we do without a glance. my every move feels robotic and whimsical. im not sure where these decisions will take me. or even if im in route. competing. contradicting. confusing. wonderments of a far away places. making mistakes, slipping on glossy endearment.  trying to be credible, yet courteous. im not sure what my path shall be.  i dont think i live that way. as much as try. im a great unknown. often to myself and to many others.

where i am now is not where i thought id be. and i have said that a million times before and i am sure i will say it a million times later. but the funny thing is, ive made the decisions to be here. right where i am at. i allowed myself to fall to fail my imagination. my imagination has been so grand, making my realities seem too slim. i know i will find my way, im good at that, or luck has been good at that. im trying not to worry. there's not a room available for that in this mind.

a few evenings ago i came across a cluster of bunnies in my path. as i came closer one by one they would cross my path. well, cluster doesn't really do them justice i would say there were a village. there are signs in everything we do, the choices we choose to make or not make. and this time was not any different. i knew in that instant there was a deeper meaning, and this was it....

reminiscence of times before. of a life that i had, and was headed towards. it's nice to come together with big thoughts and leave quietly into the distance. wanting better for the other. knowing they deserve better. with out of respect you hope this happens in the cleanest format. no splatter of hate or bitter on the walls. just the promise and hope that remain in form. that person imprinting their gracefulness and guidance on you. we love and we lose. even at a young age i understood these relationships. if you were to ask my favorite quote on my yearly "about me", i would of scribbled with no doubt, "it's better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all".
and to this day i truly believe that. for the loves that have come before, fantasy, reality, lust all with similar impacts on this impressionable heart. i am happy that i love. that ive lost. that someone picked me up and found me again.

the reality of the boys dream is coming closer and closer as the days go by. preferring to stay humble and work harder each day to exceed more then what i feel they have already accomplished. i am in the passenger seat watching as if at a drive-in. with this deadline here, meetings, hope up there they are turning it on and not looking back. i feel as though they are spinning all around me.

the days at home are becoming shorter and shorter. they will soon be whisked away north, south, over seas and back. with months becoming filled. and the nights playing under whatever light that will shine. the closer they get to their dreams, the farther i stand. one might call this a bitter sweet symphony. and im listening as if i am being serenaded.

now its only me, one must focus on their own. figure what they want. ive always been a bit lost at that. but i love feeling lost. i know what i love. what i hate. what i wish i were doing. usually i love to be anywhere but where i am at. i think if i didn't have andy i would of lived in sf, portland seattle, denver, austin by now. all within a two year span. ive been known to run. wanting to experience new. adventures of the great outdoors. im in no rush, for anything for that matter. i want to create memories. stories. lifetimes.

the whimsical feeling that is love, that has kept me grounded. will no longer be around. i will have to learn to tie my feet down and not be blown away in the wind. to deepen my friendships and create new ones. travel and experience life beyond my personal dimensions. challenges will rise. and i will conquer.

reminiscence of seemed like a completely different lifetime. i watched some skate videos and browsed some photos of kids that used to come into the skate shop. gripped their board, got them jobs, talked them into my suggested skate shoe that i loved at the moment. i had too much fun those days, with my studio apartment and the job at the skateshop. with skate competitions and video premieres taking up my weekend activities. i met some of the most incredible people during this time. as well as the completely insane. it's cool to see these dudes still doing what they love, striving for their passion they had at 15, still having it at 21. i could say im a bit envious.

that was something i truly enjoyed. tagging along with whatever boy i had and watching them risk their knee caps and ankles for a frontside 50-50. ahh. nostalgia of modest mouse, and trying to learn a pop shove it on the carpet.

maybe it's time to take the homemade long board out for a spin around the block. maybe put some dunks on with a volcom sweatshirt.

i have been on a bit of a creative hiatus. instead of writing, ive been living. taking time away from my moments of solitude and creating adventures in every direction i seem to look. as much as i appreciate the hours i allow my head to wander, i equally enjoy the time i create stories to tell.

today was a solo adventure out of my comfort zone. i begin to think about who i am, what i love and love to enjoy. how all of it creates the happiness that is clearly stated on my face with a permanent smile.

one: i have this attachment to meeting new people, each person i meet and converse with has a hard departure. to walk away not knowing the reality of our place in time. this feeling has come over me time and time again. wayne, the dish salesman, ashley the subway rider. i shared my thoughts and my life to swiftly be erased moments later. im not good at turning away, and never looking back. i often look back all to much. i love these connections and maybe they are single serving friends. but i always leave wanting more.

two, three, seventeen: i live for my hair blowing in the wind and the opportunity to climb trees. to live as though im still 13 with a curious eye for all the paths i cross. i prefer the adolescent thoughts of not knowing what tomorrow may bring. to problem solve. detective nature. run, and feel lost among unknown souls. new cities and states linger with conquered imagination. daydreaming among other daydreamers. resting my mind but racing my thoughts. knowing at this moment...im in a constant evolution in a self perspective adventure.

traveling 2767 miles, 8 hours later, to my mother's home in rehoboth beach, delaware was the a great feat for the fourth of july. with all the different bbq, lunches, walks into downtown with the mother, andy and i decided to adventure into the next town over one afternoon. dewey beach. spending the last 20 years of summer breaks in rehoboth, i never really went to dewey beside this lifeguard party when i was 16. from what you hear it's a "college town" and to be honest from what i saw it was a college town. i remember catching a "wild on" episode when i was in high school. so my expectations were high. first, there had to be a random encounter. we strolled into a local surf shop, to my surprise my friend todd who i had spent many of those summers with was working. the last time i saw him he was living in california for college. and that california encounter was even weirder. but across the massive united states we still just happen to run into one another. each time equally as unexpected as the last. and he apparently had become mr. dewey beach.

after our run in with mr. dewey beach and giving us direction on all the hotpsots. we walked into bottle & cork. the self proclaimed "greatest rock and roll bar in the world". quite the hefty title for a tiny beach town. within moments we hear an amazing rendition of kings of leon and any great song you only wish to have a live band preform. this was a town of cover bands, and great ones at that. every bar we went to had a stage with a live performance by a cover band. pretty neat if you ask me. with a few jack and cokes, jello shots, exotic photo hunt , and a $50 parking ticket. i must say we did a great job at conquering dewey beach. newport, i think you may have a bit of competition. water front bars with about 1000 people and bike taxis, you may want to rethink rudys?

petty compact disc theft.

as of late in our tiny block of (almost) million dollar homes, have had some brief encounters with thefts. with a computer stolen from one of the guys to my burned compact disks someone so desperately needed. also, with a neighbors hood and trunk stolen from their honda civic. those parts apparently run for some sort of financial gain.

when thinking of how to stop these petty thefts from happening i hit a wall. i called and reported my cd's stolen. i kept reinterating to the police officer, "the cd's are not important, it's the bigger picture. these theifs are cruising our neighborhood looking for some resellable goods" he didn't give me much to work with. but what can he, more partrol. i suppose that could help. maybe.

im not sure where to go from here. i wrote into a local blog that discussea crimes, events on the eastside. ( theeastsiderla.com )hoping someone maybe have a relasitic answer. i was thinking crime watch, or flyering all the neighbors to call into our precinct and complain as well. if i could sit up all night with my shot gun, i would. but that doesn't seem feisable.

what does a caring citizen do at this point? i feel like im up for the challenge.
maybe my first step is trying remove the homeless from their tent homes at then end of my block. they may not be helping the situation. or maybe they just wanted to hear some new tunes. or in my case 1990's tunes.

a day can drag on and another days can be a blink of an eye. i was sent to take a day "trip" up to portland for work. ive never been to portland, and to go for a few hours seems to be shameful. and honestly, what little i saw i enjoyed. besides the whole flying part.

i had only one hour to explore, and i was directed to check out mississippi ave. so that's exactly what i did. little shops. eaterys. antiques. all snuggled nicely on this two lane road. there were bike racks at every corner and trees shadowing the sidewalks. i ran into a few chickens. yes, chickens. neat ones at that. i've been hearing people are raising chickens for eggs, another way to be sustainable. they brought charcter.

for those few moments i was amongst the trees. i truly liked it. i loved the green. green plants. green movement. bike riders. trains. cool old houses. new lofts. i could really see myself here. the air felt fresh. as of right now, it's the next place on my list.

if i could recommend anything right now. book, movie, television, art, it would be this.
after a long day of being home sick this is what i ended up watching. and it was worth every minute of it. i know we hear time and time again, what will happen to our earth but this made it seem real. what could possibly happen in my lifetime.

it was eye opening. engaging. worry. fear. hopeful. enraging. embarrassed. family. movements. ambition. pride. evolution. chance.
